First of all, a Big congratulations to all of you receiving your First Communion this afternoon, and a congratulations to your families as well. My prayer for all of you is that you will grow more in your love for Jesus every day and every time you receive him in Communion.

St. Thomas was the first one, EL PRIMERO, to refer to Jesus as Lord and God. This is very significant. Thomas is saying at least two things here, if not more.
First, Jesus has the right to claim Lordship, or Kingship, over Thomas. Indeed, Jesus has earned the right to claim the Kingship of all humanity, because of what he went through. It is only a majestic and righteous King, who is willing to place all his subjects above himself, that makes Him worthy to be called “Lord”.
