40 days more and Nineveh shall be overthrown.
I tell you, the time is running out… For the world in its present form is passing away.
This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.
That is one quote each from our three readings today. Here is another, though longer, quote:
And now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I’ll say it clear
I’ll state my case, of which I’m certain…
Regrets, I’ve had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption…
For what is a man, what has he got
